Earth 13: Silverfish

Artist Statement: Silver Fish

I was once scuba diving off the coast of Hawaii. The sky was dark gray. The ocean bottom was covered with black lava and fine black sand. Suddenly out of nowhere, a school of thousands and thousands of silver fish appeared and surrounded me, swimming quickly past me on all sides. Their sheer numbers and brilliant shimmering forms against the jet-black backdrop was one of the most eerie amazing sights I can remember. This globe is about those special moments when we connect with nature in a magical way.
